Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American actor and musician who started her career through clever raps that tackled the issues of sexuality and race with a a boldly comic perspective. Then she branched out into Hollywood. Born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came via the trumpet. In the following years, she took up the classical and hip-hop genres. When she was in college, she focused on her studies and took up a degree in women's studies as well as journalism. For a brief period during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. After graduating, it wasn't until that she shifted her focus towards music. Following her viral success on the Internet and her own song My Vag was a reaction to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick. It eventually appeared on the debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also contained viral hits like body-positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC Bitche$1. This song is directly tied to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. Alongside having a book published and a singer, she was also a professional as a performer. She's appeared in movies including Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed several major roles like Dude Ocean's Eight or Crazy Rich Asians. Then in June, she launched the EP In Fina We Trust.
